International Organization for Migration (IOM)

Afghanistan - OCRV (December 2004 - January 2005)
Afghanistan Out of Country Registration & Voting (OCRV) was probably the most complex operation in modern election history and had stretched security, communication and IT requirements to its limits. I was appointed as IT Assistant to chief in IOM HQ, Islamabad. My responsibilities involved; Decision support, IT policies, LAN & VSAT setup and management, Application development for internal use, and Technical support in order to ensure that all systems were maintained and operational at all time.


Cogilent Solutions

Internet-Dialer (December 2003 - May 2004)
Internet-Dialer has been developed to access RAS entries on a system and provides facility to connect with ISP. It also sends diagnostic information to server on failure. This application is developed with customized GUI support. The user has been facilitated to select skin for GUI of his/her choice.


Diyatech Pakistan

AdExchange.com: (May 2000 – July 2000)
AdExchange.com covers the entire lifecycle of buying and selling Internet based advertisement, which covers exposing, buying and negotiating of available advertisement spaces matching buyer's specification. This project was conducted by Diyatech Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd for Computer Science Corporation USA.

Diyatech MIS: (July 2000 – August 2000)
This system was developed to control and manage information about organization’s business operations. Not only business operations, it is also used broadly in a number of contexts that include decision support system, resource and people management application, and project management.

Entropia: (August 2000 – December 2000)
Entropia uses the spare processing time of people's PCs to quietly work on important computing problems. Breaking down a large computation into hundreds of thousands of smaller computations and then distributing them over hundreds of thousands of computers over Internet is what Entropia specializes in.

WebMall: (January 2001 – April 2001)
WebMall is a project of Diyatech Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., developed to fulfill its online business requirements. The main focus of WebMall is to provide a B2C and B2B platforms to users for buying and selling commodities.

Multi-Platform Visual SourceSafe: (April 2001 – May 2001)
It is an ongoing project at Diyatech Pakistan for the development of a Version Control System. The purpose is to facilitate developers to use source control from any platform like Microsoft Windows, UNIX and Macintosh.

TierDeveloper: (May 2001 – to September 2003)
TierDeveloper is a tool for generating data layers classes in various languages on several platforms, using a database schema read from a RDMS. This tool supports multiple target platforms and languages. It generates data layer code for J2EE, Java, MTS C++, MTS VB, VB.NET, and C#. This tool also has the ability to read data schemas from various kinds of databases like Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, IBM DB/2 etc.

Kana Website Search Engine: (June 2002 to August 2002)
I worked in a team of development to provide capabilities for KANA (a leading CRM solution provider) website (http://www.kana.com). Search functionality was provided both for public and secured clients that are categorized into static web pages, PDF documents and dynamic contents originated by Broadvision managed contents accessed from Oracle database.

TeamSters/T2: (December 2002 to March 2003)
Teamsters is a very large labor-union in USA. They have a pension fund, which they manage. Currently, they have a mainframe based Pension Management System called TRACS. Now they want to re-engineer it into an N-Tier web-based system called T2. For this they have planned to use Oracle Forms Service in the middle-tier and Oracle 8i database. They have designed a framework around these technologies to supposedly make it easier for them to migrate all the screens from the mainframe to N-Tier along with all the business rules that were in COBOL and will now be in a combination of PL/SQL (mostly) and Java. Teamster has engaged us in this project.

ProphIT Gap: (April 2003 to June 2003)
It’s an external application for TOTAL’s ProphIT system. Diyatech is developing it for Providian Financials. It’s basically a retention/offer system for their customers that will interact with TSYS for transactions.

User Interface for DEHCS (August 1999 – May 2000)
Digital Electro Hydro Control System (DEHCS) – a vital component of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant (CNPP) – monitors turbines and other intelligent and sensitive components those are responsible of generating and regulating electric power for nuclear plant.
